Online Colour (C-41) Film Developing

Found some old undeveloped film in your storage boxes? Finished using a disposable camera on your holiday with your mates? Lazer Photos & Cameras offer colour (C-41) film processing for most types of film.

How long will it take for me to get the scans back?

• Our film processing is undertaken off-site, and we send the film there each Monday morning (or the following business day if it is a public holiday). Please ensure your film is dropped off (or arrives via mail) by the Saturday prior, or it may not be processed until the following week.
• We aim to have your film ready by the end of the same week we send it for development. This is an approximate timeframe, and this may take longer due to public holidays and other factors. You will be contacted by phone (or email, if you have requested digital scans) when your film is ready to collect.

How will I receive my digital scans?

• We send out the digital scans of your film via a Google Drive link. This link will remain active for 2 weeks once sent, so please ensure you download your scans. We will keep copies of your scans on-file for longer than this (usually up to 2 years), so please get in touch if you need them sent again.

What will happen to my negatives?

• When your film is ready, you are welcome to collect your negatives in-store (free), or we can send them back to you for an additional $7 (urban) / $17 (rural).
• If you are ordering online, please select the appropriate Return via mail option (based on where you live) if you would like your negatives couriered back to you. Select the I'll collect in-store option if you would like to come in-store to collect your negatives. If you do not want your negatives, select the Dispose of My Negatives option.
• We have limited storage space available in-store, so please make sure you collect your negatives. Negatives that remain uncollected 6 months following the job's completion may be disposed of. We encourage you to keep your negatives as they are useful in case you lose your digital files.
• Have film negatives that have already been developed, and just need to be scanned? We can scan these in-store, so pop in with your negative(s). Depending on how many you have, we may even be able to get these done the scans done the same day.

How do I get your film to us?

• If you are ordering online, you can either drop your negatives off in-store, or post them to the following address: Lazer Photos & Cameras, 124 The Strand, Whakatane 3120.
• We recommend you use a tracked courier option for sending your film to us, as we do not take responsibility for any film that is lost, damaged, or delayed in transit to us.

What happens if something goes wrong?

• Sometimes, film rolls may end up 'blank' (i.e. no photos turn out). This can be caused by a number of reasons, such as your camera not winding the film correctly or the shutter malfunctioning. In such an instance where a roll is completely blank, then we will issue a partial refund to you for those affected rolls, less the development cost.
• On the rare occasion that your negatives are damaged or lost during transit back to you, we are only liable for the replacement value of the unexposed film – either by replacing with the same type of film or a similar equivalent. We are not responsible for any film that is lost or damaged in transit to us, so we recommend using a tracked courier service.
