We use Post Haste for the vast majority of our orders. Visit their website if you need to enquire with them, or check delivery tracking.
If your order is in-stock and ready to ship (i.e. not a personalised gift item), we will aim to have your order shipped within 1-2 business days. If your order is a personalised item (e.g. giftware, prints), please allow for an addition 2-3 business days (large quantity orders may have a longer lead time, please contact us for a timeframe).
Special order items will be shipped once they arrive from our supplier(s). Please contact us prior to ordering for an estimated timeframe.
Delivery timeframes depend on your location. Most non-rural North Island addresses should receive their order within 1-2 business days, or 2-3 days for non-rural South Island addresses. If your address is rural (RD), please allow for an addition 1-2 business days for delivery.
Please note that delivery timeframes may be subject to delay due to adverse weather, disasters, or other courier delays. To see where your parcel is at, check the tracking details that were emailed to you.

Even though we primarily use metric these days, photo prints and frames are still often measured in inches. Today, a common set of sizes are used by most printers and framers – this set mostly consists of standardised sizes in the 1:1, 2:3, and 4:3 ratios, along with some legacy formats.
The most common size is 4x6" (often referred to as "postcard" size), which is mainly used in photo albums and small frames. This uses a 2:3 ratio.
For enlargement prints (i.e. larger than 4x6"), common sizes include 5x7", 6x8", 8x10", 8x12", 10x13", 11x14" and 12x18".
Yes, we can certainly print at these sizes, and frames are available for them. However, A-series sizes are primarily used for documents, and so don't follow a 2:3 or 3:4 photographic ratio. So you will likely need to crop your photo to fit. We suggest using 8x12" or 12x18" photos instead of A4 and A3, respectively.
Glossy photo paper is great for standalone photos, providing a vibrant sheen. However, glossy paper is less suitable for framing. The reflective finish of glossy paper, combined with the reflectiveness of glass, can cause unwanted glare. We recommend our matte finish for framed prints.
If you order through our kiosk or software/app, you will be given the option to crop your image to fit within your desired print. Emailed photos may be cropped to fit within the requested size. If you're unsure how a photo may crop, contact our team and we will be happy to help.
Yes, absolutely! While digital cameras remain the gold standard, most smartphones are highly capable of producing good quality prints. If you're printing a photo taken by another person, do not print from a screenshot, and ask them to send the photos directly via email (not through social media or messaging apps, as these can massively impact the quality of images).
You can place school photo orders for your children either through our website, or with the order envelopes distributed by the school prior to photo day. Please please one order per child.
Envelope orders: put the correct cash amount in the envelope (ensure it is properly sealed), or bring it in to our store to pay via EFTPOS or card.
Online orders: you can pay via credit card (transaction fee may apply).
Contact our team in the first instance about the mistake.
Class photos can be ordered at any time, but there is a deadline for ordering portrait photos. Check your school's ordering page or our social media for information on deadlines. Unfortunately, we can't accept portrait orders past the deadline as our team needs time to arrange photo schedules with the school – late orders can disrupt our photographers workflow, as well as the school itself as classes & students need to come out at specific times.
Only siblings or relatives of the child (who are attending the same school) can be included in the portraits. Having non-students in the photo can disrupt our photo schedule, and schools usually will not permit people who do not attend the school to be on their premises.
Contact our team to discuss your options. We can either provide you with a refund, or arrange for a time for you & your child to visit our store to have their photo taken there.
School photos can take approx. 3-4 weeks to complete (or longer for large schools), and depends on a number of factors, including: school size, school holidays, waiting for the school to approve the photos, and other schools we have scheduled.
Check with the school first. Orders are typically handed out by the teachers, and it's possible that your child's teacher hasn't handed theirs out yet. It's also worth checking with your child – sometimes they accidentally leave the photos at school or in their backpack! If your school cannot locate the order, then contact our team and we will look into it for you.
Contact our team via info@lazerphoto.co.nz and we will provide you with information on our services and how to book!
We can take photos for all educational institutions, from preschools & kōhanga reo, all the way through to high schools. We can also take photos for sports clubs and other organisations. While we primarily offer our services to schools & clubs within the Eastern Bay of Plenty (Whakatāne, Kawerau, Edgecumbe, Ōpōtiki), we will absolutely consider requests from the wider Bay of Plenty region – contact us to discuss your options with our team!
Event photos can usually be ordered from our online gallery, or in-store.
We aim to have event photos ready for viewing & purchase 3 business days following the event.
Contact our team at info@lazerphoto.co.nz to discuss booking your event. Include details on the event date & time, theme, if you require our photobooth, and the expected attendance size.
Email our team at info@lazerphoto.co.nz if you'd like to request to have certain photos removed from an event gallery. Please include the event name and date, and the filenames of the photos (these are usually in the format LZx_xxxx, where x's denotes numbers). Our team will process your request during business hours.
Please note that while we often set up designated portrait areas at our events, our photographers may also be roaming and capturing candid moments throughout the venue. If you prefer not to be photographed, please let our photographers know during the event. We also ask that you avoid posing for or interacting with our photographers if you do not wish for your image to be published online.
