A 24.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor and DIGIC X processor deliver rich detail, natural colour and clean low-light results, while 5-axis in-body image stabilization keeps handheld shots sharp in dim laneways, on moving trains, or anywhere else a tripod isn't practical.

It's just as capable when the subject won't sit still. Dual Pixel CMOS AF II tracks people, animals and vehicles with the same tenacity as Canon's higher-end bodies, backed by 40 fps electronic-shutter burst shooting and pre-continuous capture that starts recording up to 20 frames before the shutter is even pressed, so fast, spontaneous moments don't get away. On the video side, oversampled 4K 60p, Canon Log 3 and in-camera LUT support give it real room to grow into more considered, professional-looking footage.

The 24.2MP full-frame sensor is tuned for rich detail, natural colour and beautiful bokeh, and its larger surface area helps produce cleaner images in dim conditions than a cropped-sensor camera can manage, which suits portraits, travel photography and everyday shooting alike. Native sensitivity runs from ISO 100 to 102,400, expandable to ISO 204,800 for genuinely difficult lighting.

5-Axis In-Body Stabilization

In-body image stabilization corrects camera shake across 5 axes, rated at up to 7.5 stops at the centre of the frame and 7.0 stops at the periphery, and up to 8 stops when paired with a compatible optically stabilized RF lens under coordinated IS control. Movie Digital IS adds a further enhanced mode for steadier handheld video.

40 frames per second burst mode

Shoot up to 40 fps with the electronic shutter so you can capture the exact moment a scene comes together, a passing glance, a perfectly timed gesture, without missing the shot.

Look File (LUT) Support with Canon Log 3

Shoot in Canon Log 3 to preserve maximum highlight and shadow detail, then apply Look Files (LUTs) directly in-camera. Preview your look in real time, bake it straight into your recordings, or hold it back entirely for full flexibility in post-production.
