The Sony RX10 V brings the RX10 camera line back to market, reimagined. Built around the same 24-600mm equivalent lens that made the RX10 III and RX10 IV so unique, this new version delivers a user
experience much closer to the full-frame α bodies, borrowing the larger grip design, affirmative dial and button feel and generous viewfinder that are hallmarks of modern Alpha body design. Combined with dual BIONZ XR processors and AI Chip, the RX10 V gives a completely new experience for RX shooters, with rapid, confident focus and clear framing that massively surpass its predecessors.
With dual BIONZ XR image processors and a dedicated AI Processing chip, the RX10 V provides the same advanced subject recognition capabilities as late-model Alpha models like the Alpha 7R V giving advanced human pose estimation and subject tracking support for a wide range of subjects including Animal, Bird, Insect, Car, Train and Aeroplane, as well as an intelligent auto-detect mode.
Central to the RX10’s identity, the 24-600mm equivalent ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* lens provides a sharp, bright, optically stabilised optic that grants exceptional versatility. 8 ED glass elements, including 2 aspherical elements ensures crisp, clear image quality throughout the zoom range.
The RX10 V’s Exmor RS Sensor provides the rapid readout required for 30 frames per second continuous shooting and 120fps 4K slow motion video. Optimised for continuous throughput, this sensor uses the stacked design for rapid readout without use of on-chip storage.
The RX10 V provides high performance for both stills and video. 4K 120p is availabile, providing breathtaking slowmotion footage with outstanding reach. Audio is also upgraded, with the camera’s hotshoe upgraded to support Digital Audio Interface, giving access to high-quality, robust audio and power supply without the use of external cables or batteries.
Sharing your photos and videos from the RX10 V is now faster and easier than ever, with fast 5Ghz Wi-Fi support and 4K 30p livestreaming supported via UVC/UAC. The built in USB terminal is also upgraded to the USB3.2 Gen2 standard, providing up to 10Gbps transfer speed (may be limited by card speed).
Alongside wide-sweeping ergonomic and UX upgrades, the RX10 V supports the Z100 battery widely used in the Alpha range, increasing battery life by over 50% compared to the previous generation.
